Learn how to spin

Lesson No. 1

Take the treat in your hand, let the dog sniff it and then guide the dog to turn with your hand. It may take a while for the dog to understand. The hand with the treat must be held at such a height that the dog does not have to jump up for the treat, but just follow the hand.

Lesson No. 2

Practice this movement for several days, a couple of times a day. When you feel that the dog's movement is smooth and without stopping, add a verbal command before beginning the movement. So the sequence will look like this: command - guide hand - treat.

Lesson No. 3

Now hide the treat in your hand and keep your index finger sticking out. Guide the dog in the same way as before. Command - hand guidance with finger - treat.

Lesson No 4.

Gradually raise your hand higher and higher. The goal is to teach the dog to do a spin when given a command with just the wrist or index finger and to stand upright in front of him. Always reward the dog and proceed slowly.
